Two Day Course Attended Course
This is a fabulous 2 day attended course learning about essential oils, making lovely products for yourself, family and friends and taking away the knowledge to carry on making your own products for retail.
You will learn how to make rollerballs, room sprays, and blend into cream, lotion and gel wash bases and bath salts, all using high quality pure essential oil blends.
We have over eighty fantastic, unique essential oil blends covering a wide range of therapeutic and energetic situations.
Learn how to effectively use essential oil blends to help in all aspects of your health and wellbeing. Our Blends allow you to use essential oils safely and effectively and by using our Blends we take the guess work out of Aromatherapy for you.
Main aims of the Course
This Aromatherapy Product Making course, serves as a comprehensive guide to using our unique essential oil blends and teaches participants to make safe and effective products and treatments using the Blends for their own personal use, for friends and family, their therapy practice, for gifts and making products to sell, whether at events, online or in retail. Successful participants will receive a Certificate on completion of their course assessment enabling you to gain insurance for making products using our Blends.
The 2 day course will cover:
- An insight to Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.
- About our Blends – origin and development of the Blends.
- Storage of Essential Oils, Hygiene and Safety (including Risk Assessment with Covid19 measures).
- Introduction to 42 Therapeutic Essential Oil Blends.
- Creating and making appropriate and therapeutic products/treatments – make a cream – blend essential oils into a cream and lotion base.
- Understanding the Skin.
- Effective and appropriate carrier oils and cosmetic bases.
- How our Blends work with particular body systems.
- Be able to access, understand and demonstrate the importance of varying dilutions of products and using the appropriate carrier for the person/condition.
- Be able to choose an appropriate Blend or combination of Blends.
- Creating and making appropriate and therapeutic products/treatments – make a rollerball and room spray.
- Preservatives – when and why we need to use them.
- Client Care – Consultation procedure and Contraindications.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course students will be able to:

- Understand the difference between perfume grade essential oils and therapeutic grade essential oils.
- Understand the importance of safety and the correct storage of essential oils and a high level of hygiene while preparing products/treatments.
- Understand the importance of treating a person holistically and making products taking the “whole” person into consideration.
- To understand the importance of contraindications when using essential oils and the Blends.
- Be able to access, understand and demonstrate the importance of varying dilutions of products and using the appropriate carrier for the person/condition.

- Be able to competently make four products using four different types of media.

Participants will receive an Aromatherapy Product Making Certificate – a fully certified and insurable qualification for individuals and organisations in the use and application of these specific blended essential oils.
This course is also accredited by The Federation of Holistic Therapists. So if you are already have a Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy or Massage then you can become a member of the Federation and access their insurance. If you are not a Therapist then you can gain your insurance with Balens Ltd.
Practitioner Certificate in Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is a massage applied to the upper back, upper arms, head and neck areas. The massage techniques are designed to promote relaxation, relieve stress related muscle tension and improve blood flow in the head and neck areas. As the treatment has the option to be performed without the removal of clothing, it is commonly used on airlines, in offices and workplaces, particularly where there are stressful situations or physical problems arising from the continuous use of computers.
Following the completion of this course you will be able to carry out an Indian Head Massage treatment.

Balens Ltd insurance have confirmed that they will accept this certificate in order to insure.
There are 30 Guided Learning Hours for this course, which includes;
- 4 x Attended Days 9.30am-5pm (2 x weekends)
- You will need to carry out a minimum of 25 treatments as part of your evidence requirements. This will comprise of the following:
4 full case studies – each client will receive 5 treatments.
The treatments that you carry out in class on each other and for your practical assessment on the last day will also count towards the 25 treatments. You will need to complete a few more single treatments at home.
Course Assessment:
Learners will be required to show achievement of a range of relevant learning outcomes and assessment criteria, as set by the NOS. This will include the following practical assessments and theoretical knowledge will be assessed during your training time:
- Indian Head Massage Portfolio of Evidence to include; all treatments, case studies, completed workbooks in your portfolio and present to me on the 3rd day of the course.
- Short multiple choice test
- Minimum of 25 treatments

Practitioner Certificate in Essential Oil Blending
The Practitioner’s Certificate in Essential Oil Blending is taught by Christina Lyne, Aromalyne Training and is comprehensive and practical. You will study and gain the knowledge of the principle of the use of Essential Oil, Blends, Carrier oils and the making of Natural Products. You will learn the benefits of essential oils and how to implement them into your natural products for yourself and for your clients, understand the effects and sources of essential oils, provide safe and effective treatments to clients in difference circumstances and apply essential oils in mediums such as creams, lotions, balm and water based products.
This course does not qualify you to carry out Aromatherapy Massage. Due to the current National Occupational Standard (NOS) wording you cannot call yourself an Aromatherapist but you can call yourself an Essential Oil Practitioner. This course is insured by Balens Ltd.
Duration: this is an 18 hour online course comprising of 6 attended online sessions (6-9pm one evening per week) and one attended practical product making and blending day (9.30am-4.30pm).
Cost of the course: £350 (Learners will be required to purchase a course kit).
Venue: the online training sessions will take place on Zoom. The attended practical day will take place at the Aromalyne Studio, 60 Ancton Way, Elmer Sands, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, PO22 6JP (this will be dependent on Covid19 restrictions).
Qualification Gained: CPD Certified Practitioner’s Certificate in Essential Oil Blending.
Requirements: This course is available for complete beginners with no previous experience as well as qualified therapists. Learners must be over the age of 18.

About this course: this course will include the study of 40 essential oils and their use when blended into a carrier oil, cream base, lotion base and water-based products (room spray and rollerball), safe use of inhalers and making a lip balm.
The following Essential Oils will be covered; Lavender, Lavandin, Lavender Spike, Clary Sage, Sweet Marjoram, Rosemary, Thyme, Peppermint, Basil, Patchouli, Neroli, Petitgrain, Orange Bitter and Sweet, Bergamot, Lemon, Mandarin, Grapefruit, Roman and German Chamomile, Eucalyptus (4 types), Tea Tree, Geranium, Black Pepper, Fennel, Rose damask and cabbage, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Ginger, Lemongrass, Vetivert, Cedarwood, Cypress and Juniper.
The following Carrier (Fixed) Oils; Sweet Almond, Apricot Kernel, Peach Kernel, Soya, Peanut, Sunflower, Grapeseed, Olive, Avocado, Sesame, Linseed, Hazel, Walnut, Macadamia, Coconut, Evening Primrose, Castor, Rapeseed, Rosehip, Safflower and Jojoba.
Course Assessment:
Learners will be required to show achievement of a range of relevant learning outcomes and assessment criteria, as set by the NOS. This will include the following practical assessments and theoretical knowledge will be assessed during your training time:
- Practitioner Certificate in Essential Oil Blending Workbook which you will complete from the course and your own research.
- Essential Oil and Carrier Workbook which you will complete from the course and your own research.
- Completion of Understanding the Skin Workbook and the Olfactory and Limbic System Workbook.
- Final assessment Test.
- Case Studies – 2 people will receive 2 treatments.
- Attending the Practical Product Making and Blending Workshop.

- Understanding Dilutions, drops v percentages v weight. The 100 Rule!
- Appropriate carriers and dilutions for client/condition.
- Choosing how to make the right product.
- Client Care – Consultation procedure and Contraindications.
- Looking at putting Blends together for more complex situations.
- Preservatives – when and why?
- Safe and Effective Diffusing.
- The making of Infused Oils.
- Aroma Psychology – Emotions (Limbic System) and Olfactory System.
- Study of 40 Essential Oils, 20 carrier oils and blending into cream base, lotion base and water-based products (room spray and rollerball), safe use of inhalers and making a lip balm.
- Introduction to the legislation and compliance requirements when selling products.
Manuals and Certification:
Training manuals will be downloadable to each learner via email before starting the training course. These manuals will be available to download for 60 days once your course has started. It will be the student’s responsibility to download and save the training manuals within this time. Manuals can be read on all devices.
Certification of your course will be posted to you once you have met the learning outcomes.
